Patricia Field is a well-known fashion designer and stylist from New York City. The flame-haired fashion guru is probably best known for her work as the much-talked-about and influential Costume Designer on HBO’s now defunct series Sex and the City.
Her NYC boutique (located at 302 Bowery) is a mish-mash of edgy, eclectic costume-y pieces best loved by leftover club kids from the 1990s and, of course, drag queens.
This is not to say that fashion lovers who veer more towards the mainstream in their wardrobe choices won’t find the occasional rhinestone skull necklace or funky hat at the boutique because that’s exactly what is wonderful about Patricia Field – she has a little something for everyone. Her fashion line, House of Field, is designed by David Dalrymple (they have worked together since 1995) and worn by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Paulina Rubio, Skakira and Mary J. Blige, just to name a few.
His most memorable design is probably from the 2000 MTV Music Awards – the breakaway ensemble worn by Britney Spears. Field is also working on one of the coming year’s most anticipated films, The Devil Wears Prada.
