Tory Burch

October 25, 2008 by sandy305

Tory Burch, philanthropist and one of New York’s brightest social stars, launched her own label in February 2004 with the opening of a flagship store in New York City.

She is a style setter and has been hailed by many as the next big thing in fashion. Tory Burch is an affordable lifestyle collection of sophisticated sportswear and playful accessories for women of all ages. Burch leads a fast-paced lifestyle – she and her husband have six children, three girls and three boys – and aimed to create a line of stylish yet wearable clothing that blends classic design elements with modern fashion sensibilities that would allow her to live the life that she loves.

No stranger to the industry, Burch has spent her entire career in fashion with experiences at Zoran, Harper’s Bazaar, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang and Loewe. She draws inspiration for her collections on her understanding of vintage clothing, fashion history and classic tailoring, and puts her personal touch on each piece by accenting with bohemian and ethnic details.

Her line is best described as jet-set essentials (think reversible cashmere polos, terry-cloth tunics, sharkskin trenches, high-heeled espadrilles, totes, umbrellas and candles), and everything is very basic and easy to wear – very see-you-in-at-our-summer-home-in-Miami-Beach-this-weekend chic.
