Thomas Pink

October 23, 2008 by sandy305

Thomas Pink is the industry leader for luxury shirts. The London-based retailer offers a classic selection of shirts for both men and women with a little attitude thrown in for good measure. Look for saturated pastels, bold stripes, floral patterns, woven buttons to match ties and silver-plated enamels are all available.

Thomas Pink was founded in London in 1984 by two Irish entrepreneurs, the Mullen brothers and the company’s moniker comes from a tailor who was based in London, in the 19th Century. The first Thomas Pink store was in the borough of Chelsea, London, but in 1989 the label finally acquired a store in the much sought after Jermyn Street (where other high-end shirt makers are based). Using only the most expensive fabrics and finest cuts the high-end line has shops that can be found all over the world, but they are particularly popular in the United States.

Over the years, the label has branched out to include casual wear, blazers and accessories. The designs are creative and very practical and they have even created The Commuter Tie, which is a bright pink silk tie with a built in pocket in the back, expertly constructed to hold the iPod nano. In 2006, the line teamed up with Warner Bros. Studios for the release of The Pink Panther starring Kevin Kline, Beyoncé Knowles and Steve Martin.
