Dsquared2

October 20, 2008 by sandy305

Dsquared2 is a design label headed by identical Canadian twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten. The guys are known for their unusual and fun-loving mix of American wit, refined Italian tailoring, and attention to detail, which has definitely garnered them a cult-like following.

The Canadian-born duo left for Milan in 1991 to pursue their love of fashion and an undeniable desire to one day have their own collection. All their hard work finally paid off in 1994 when their men’s collection debuted. Nine years later in 2003, their first womenswear collection took to the runway with a bang.

As if having one of the sexiest collections around weren’t enough, supermodels Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Karolina Kurkova and Fernanda descended onto the catwalk from a candy-pink private jet. People really started to take notice of the boys when they were commissioned to create costumes for Madonna’s “Don’t Tell Me” video as well as the cowboy segment in her 2002 Drowned World Tour. After that it was full speed ahead.

In 2003, they were also awarded the GQ Men of the Year Breakout Design Team Award. From collection to collection they have received critical acclaim for their sexy, wearable pieces that are relaxed yet sophisticated. The perfect combination for celebs like Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore.
